Bot.: Andropogon (Cymbopogon) schœnanthus. So called from its agreeable smell. The taste is warm, bitterish, and not unpleasant. Formerly it was brought over from Turkey, in bundles about a foot long, and sold as a stomachic and deobstruent. Now but rarely used.
