[ autograph (a'to-graf), a. and n. [F. auto graphe, II. n. [F. autographe , autographum .] 1. A person's own handwriting; something written by a person's own hand; an original manuscript or signature. Autographs of famous names were to be seen in faded Ink on some of their fly leaves.
