AIDE-FORCEPS

(Fr.), n.?ps. The aid-forceps. [A, 40]; a mechanical contrivance devised by Joulin for exerting continuous traction with the obstetrical forceps by means of a fillet pa ed through the fenestræ. It works by a mechanism analogous to that of the handle of an écraseur, counter-pre ure being made against the ischia, and is furnished with a small dynamometer. A, 15.
