ivul'-kan-it. Ebonite, or hard, vulcanized caoutchouc (india-rubber). V. Base, in dentistry, a vulcanized. India-rubber plate adapted to such portion of the alveolar arch as is deprived of natural teeth and is to be supplied with an artificial substitute. V., Dental, India-rubber combined with sulphur or sulphur compounds, and colored with vermilion. A combination of rubber 48 parts, sulphur 24 parts, and vermilion 36 parts. Compare Rubber.
