The iron block at the end of a vertical stamping-bar. stamp-mill, stamping-mill, s. Metall.: A mill in which the rock is crushed by descending pestles which are lifted by water or steam power. stamp-note, s. Comm.: A memorandum delivered by a shipper of goods to the searcher, which, when stamped by him, allows the goods to be sent off by lighter to the ship, and is the captain's authority for receiving them on board.
