Final Velocity

That which a projectile would acquire in the descending branch of the trajectory when the retarding influences of the air resistance becomes equal to the acceleration of gravity. It differs from the terminal velocity, or that of the projectile at the instant of striking; it is technically used in problems of exterior ballistics.
