(de-miz.) [From L. demi io.] (Law.) A grant by lease of heritable property, which may be either for life or years.- D. OF THE CROWN, signifies the death ofa king or of a queen-regnant, and implies a transfer of the royal authority to a succe ion. [s. 275]
