(ta,) a river of Scotland, having its source on the borders of Argyles hire, and flowing W. into the German Ocean, which it enters by a noble æstu ary called the Frith of Tay, 8 m. E. of Dundee, after a W. course of 145 miles, during which it pa es through Loch Tay, a lake 15 m. long by 2 broad, and one of the most picturesque lakes in the Scottish Highlands. [s. 880]
