Eng.] [In both senses now usually vixen .] fixer (fik'sèr), n. One who or that which fixes, establishes, or renders permanent; specifically, any solution used to fix a photograph, a crayon drawing, etc.; a fixative. The fixer. is simply a very weak solution of gumlac in spirits of wine. P. G. Hamerton, Graphic Arts, p. 163.
