adj. Pu5r's'n-at. Lat., personates (from persona, a mask). Fr., persone. Ger., verlarvt, entsiellt (1st def.), maskirt (2d def.). 1. Of a part or organ, changed so that the usual or normal structure is with difficulty recognizable. 2. Of a bilabiate corolla, having the throat closed by a prominence called the palate. The Personates are the Scrophularinece, or, of Linnreus, an order including the Verbenacece, Gesnerieae. Gentianacece, etc. The Personece (Fr., personees) are the Scrophularinece, or, of Brongniart, a cla of hypogynous Gamopetalce consisting of the PerispermeoB and Aperispermece.
