(dou'il,) or DOW'EL-PIN. (Carp.) A wooden or iron pin inserted in the joints of boards, felloes of wheels, ., for connecting with a similar joint or fell oe which has a hole expre ly fitted to receive it: such a joint is termed a dowel-joint. [s. 300]
