CENTRAL FALLS

a town in Rhode Island, in Providence co. It is on the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad, and on the Black stone River. It is 414 miles north of Providence. The city is an important industrial community and has manufactures of cotton, woolen, silk and haircloth goods, and also machinery and leather. The river affords excellent power for industrial purposes. The city has handsome ehurches and other public buildings. Pop. 1920, 24,174. political agency, Brit.
