The same as LEVO-GYRATE. lævo-tartaric, a. (See the compound.) Lævo - tartaric acid: Chem.: A compound of tartaric acid, isomeric with tartaric acid, but rotating to the left, while ordinary tartaric acid does so to an equal extent to the right.
