Leipzig Cons. and vla.-player Brodsky Quartet; cond. of various societies; c. 3 vin.concertos, a via.-concerto, a ’cello concerto, etc. _Sittard (sit-tar), (1) Josef, Aix-laChapelle, June 4, 1846—Hamburg, Nov. 23, 10903; pupil, Stuttgart Cons., later teacher of singing and pf. there; lecturer on mus.; 1885, critic; 1891, prof.; writer and composer. (2) Alfred, b. Stuttgart, Nov. 4, 1878; organist; son and pupil of (1), also of Armbrust and Koehler, later of Cologne Cons.; won Mendel ohn Prize 1902; 1903, org. of Dresden Kreuzkirche; after ror2 of the new Michael is kir che in Hamburg and also cond. of choir there. Sivori (sé-vd’-ré), Ernes to Camillo, Genoa, 1815—1894; famous violinist and composer; début at 6; pupil of Costa and Pagan in i; toured widely.
