Cosmogony treats of the way in which the world or the universe came to be; cosmology, of its general theory, or of its structure and parts, as it is found existing; cosmogra phy, of its appearance, or the structure, figure, relations, etc., of its parts. Each of these words may stand for a treatise upon the corresponding subject. Cosmology and cosmography are not altogether distinct.
