ÇOISE DE FOIX, COMTESSE DE, mistre of Francis I., B. 1475. She was cousin to Gaston de Foix, nephew of Louis XII.; appeared at the court in the time of Anne of Britt any, and accepted the hand of the Count de Chateaubriant. Her great beauty and accomplishments made her a favorite with Francis I. but she afterwards found a succe ful rival in the Duch e d'Etâmpes. D. 1537. Châteaudun, a town of France, dep.
