(eks'pürt.) [From L. expert us, experienced.] (Law.) One who is called upon, by virtue of his skill and experience in a particular branch of knowledge, to examine into the merits of a certain subject of inquiry, and report thereon to the best of his opinion and judgment. [s. 350]
