Warren, William Fairfield

D.D. (Ohio Wesley an University, Delaware, 1862"), LL.D. (Wesley an University, Middle town, Conn., 1874), Methodist; b. at Williams burg, Ma ., March 13, 1833; graduated at Wesley an University, Middle town, Conn., 1853; entered the Methodist ministry, 1854; studied at Berlin and Halle, and travelled in Europe and the East, 1856-58; was profe or of systematic theology in the Methodist Mi ionary Institute at Bremen, 1861-66; acting president of Boston Theological Seminary, and profe or of systematic theology, 1866-71; dean of the School of Theology, Boston University, 1871-73; since 1873 has been president of Boston University, and profe or of comparative histoiy of religions, comparative theology, and philosophy of religion. He is the author of Anfangsgrilnde der Logik, Bremen, 1863; System at is che theologie, 1 Theil., 1865; Paradise Found; the Cradle of the Human Race at the North Pole: a Study of the Prehistoric World, Boston, 1885, 5th ed. same year; and many reports, pamphlets, articles, etc. See list in Wesleijan University Alumni Record. *
