AREOLA

(Dim. of area.) The ring or margin which surrounds the pustule of small and cow pox. AREOLjE, in Entomology, are smaller spaces into which the wing is divided by the nervures: they are termed vasal, middle, and apical, according to their relative position. [s. 98]
