Pleonasm

(ple'o-năzm.) [FromGr. pleon as mos, from pleonazo, I abound.] (Rhet.) A redundancy of words, used, though improperly, to expre a thought with greater energy or perspicuity; such as, " I saw it with my own eyes." [s. 716]
