Paradise

(păr'a-dīs) [From Gr. parade isos, a place of recreation.] A region of supreme felicity; generally meaning the garden of Eden. When Christians use the word, they mean that celestial paradise, or place of pure and refined delight, in which the souls of the ble ed enjoy everlasting happine . [s. 683]
