In Greek and Latin poetry, a foot consist ing of three long syllables, as %uip<h<ra(, regnabant. It is said to der i\ a its name either from a favourite dance of the Molo i, a people of Epirus, or from Jupiter Molo us, in whose honour odes were composed in which this foot had a great share.
