[Lat. cyathus =cup, and Gr. krinon=a lily.] Zool.: The type of the family Cyathocrinide (q.v.). Calyx subglobose, five basals, five parabasals or sub radials, radials generally three to each arm, no inter-radials. Range, from the Silurian to the Permian, especially the Carboniferous and the Permian. ( Nicholson .) çy-a-tho-phyl-li-dæ, s. pl. [Mod. Lat.cyatho phyll (um) (q. v.), and fem. pl. adj. sufi.- idce.] portant family of the rugose corals. Corallum Palæont .: Cup-corals, the largest and most imsimple or compound, septa not generally quadripartite; tabule present, interseptal loculi with di epiments. It is divided into two sub-families, Zaphrentinæ and Cyathophylline. Only Palæozoic. çy-a-tho-phyl-li-næ, s . pl . [Mod. Lat. cyatha phyll ( um ), and fem. pl. adj. suff. -inæ .] Septa more or le regularly radiate. Palcont .: A sub-family of Cyathophyllidæ (q. v.).
