t. [ picket1 , n . ] 1. Το fortify with pickets or pointed stakes; also, to inclose or fence with narrow pointed boards or pales.-2. To fasten to a picket or stake, as a horse.-3. To torture by compelling to stand with one foot on a pointed stake.-4. To place or post as a guard of observation. See picket , n . , 2.-5. To make into pickets.
