B.in Boston November 9, 1854. Her novels include ‘A Newport Aquarelle’ 1883; ‘Atlanta in the South’ 1896; ‘Mammon’ 1898; ‘Honor and Phyliida, 1903; ‘Roma Beata’ 1904. Books of travel, ‘T'wo in Italy’ 1905; ‘Sun and Shadow in Spain’ 1908 and ‘Shadow and Sun in Sicily, 1910. Other books are ‘The 11th Hour in the Life of Julia Ward Howe, 1911, and she edited with Laura E. Richards ‘Life and Letters of Julia Ward Howe’ 1915.
