[ Turnus ( Papilio turn us), one half natural size. black-striped swallow-tailed butterfly common in the United States. One striking variety of the female has the wings entirely black. The larva, of a deep velvety-green color, feeds on sa afras, alder, willow, oak, apple, and various other trees.
