[F. aciérage, acierate (as'i-e-rat), v. t. To convert into steel. acieration (asi-e-ra's hon), n. [ F.acier, steel, +-ation.] Conversion into steel: a word occasionally used by writers on the metallurgy of iron and steel. Withdrawing trial pieces from time to time and breaking them so as to ascertain to what depth the acieration has proceeded, Encyc.
