Meningitis

(men-in-ji’-tis). Inflammation of the membranes of the brain, a serious disease, often ending fatally. Pains in the head are the first symptom, the temperature rises, and delirium sets in. The nurse must take the temperature every four hours, and watch for signs of collapse. Keep the room darkened and absolutely quiet; feed a iduously.
