[Pref. trach ( eo )-, and Gr. engchyma infusion.] Bot .: Vascular ti ue consisting of simple membranous, unbranched tubes, tapering to each end, but often ending abruptly, either having a fiber generated spirally in the inside, or having their walls marked by transverse bars arranged more or le spirally.
