verrucariine (verokariin)

[ verrucarioid (ver-ö-kāʻri-oid), a. [ Verrucidæ (ve-rö'si-dē), n. pl. [NL., 4, +-idæ.] A family of se ile thoracic Cirri pedia, characterized by the absence of a peduncle and the lack of symmetry of the shell, the scuta and terga being deprived of depre or muscles, movable on one side only, on the other united with the rostrum and carina. Verruca is the only genus, with few recent species, but others are found fo il down to the Chalk for mation.
