Efficiency

—The ratio of the net power output of an apparatus to its gro power input; in a storage battery, the efficiency may be regarded as the ratio of the energy output to the energy intake in a normal cycle; in an incandéscent lamp, it is the ratio of its mean spherical candle ‘power to the watts consumed.
