[ trichocysts at the anterior extremity. Tri cho mon as (tri-kom'ō-nas), n. cies Europe, but several found North America, where the individuals are extremely abundant, as of T. minuta. They are all parasitic in the eggs of lepidopterous insects and of sawflies. Tri chog ram minæ (trikō-gra-mi'nē), n. pl. [NL. (L. O. Howard, 1885), -inæ . ] A subfamily of parasitic hymen opters, of the family Chalcididæ, containing the small est species of the family, characterized by their three-jointed tarsi (thus forming the section Trimer a ) and the regular fringe of minute bris yellow to reddish brown, and are all parasitic in the eggs of other insects.
