Kerman

or Sirjan . The capital of a province of the same name in Persia, situated about 360 miles southeast from Ispahan. In 1794, after a brave defense, this city was taken by Aga Mohammed Khan, and given up to plunder for three succe ive months. It has never recovered from the effects of this great disaster.
