18ST BARON (1750-1823), Brit. lawyer; 6. Edinburgh; called to Bar, 1778; notes for several ana defences. Lord Chancellor, 1806ERVINE, ST. JOHN GREER (1883), British playwright, and author; 5. Belfast. His plays include The Magnanimous Lover; Mixed Marriage; Jane Clegg, John Fergusom, and The Ship 1922. He was manager of the Abbey Theatre, Dublin, where several of his plays were first produced. Among his novels are Changing Winds, and The Foolish Lovers. In 1922 he published Some Impre ions of My Elders, a collection of views on com temporary writers contributed to the North American Review. In the World War he was a lieuutenant in the Dublin Fusliiers and was wounded in action.
