Pertaining to the Phanerocarpæ, or having their characters: opposed to crypto carp ous. phanerocodonic (fan"e-rō-ko-don'ik), a. [ man. phanerocrystalline (fan"e-rō-kris'ta-lin), a. [ phanerogam i an (fan"e-ro-ga'mi-an), a. [ cryptogamous. phanerogamous (fan-e-rog'a-mus), a. [ Phaneroglo a, Phaneroglo æ (fan"e-roglos'ä, -e), n. pl. [NL., Gr. φανερός, visible, + γλώσσα, the tongue.] A division of salient anurous batrachians, including those which evidently have a tongue, and whose Eustachian tubes are separate. It has been divided into Disco dactyl a and Oxy dactyl a, a mode of division not now recognized. It includes all the taille amphibians excepting the Pipidæ and Xenopodidæ. The term is contrasted with A glo a . phaneroglo al (fan'e-ro-glos'al), a. [ Pha neroglo a + -al.] Same as phaneroglo ate: contrasted with aglo al.
