Infusion of Rhat′any

Syn. Infusum krameriæ (B. P.), Infusum rhataniæ , I. krameriæ (Ph. L. & D.), L. Prep. 1. (B. P.) Rhatany, bruised, 1 oz.; boiling distilled water, 20 oz.; infuse 1 hour, and strain.— Dose , 1 to 2 oz. 2. (Ph. L.) Rhatany root, 1 oz.; boiling distilled water, 1 pint; macerate for 4 hours in a covered ve el, and strain. 3. (Ph. D.) Rhatany, 1 ⁄ 2 oz.; boiling water, 9 fl. oz.; macerate 1 hour, and strain. Astringent and tonic; chiefly in chronic diarrhœa. 4. (Concentrated; Infusum krameriæ con centra tum , L.) From 8 times the usual quantity of ingredients, as INFUSION OF CASCARILLA .
