(paw.) [Fr.) A step; thus, in music, the pas redouble, that is, a quickstep played by military bands. Pas cagoul a Bay and River, (pas-kah-goo'lah,) in Mi i ippi. The bay is an inlet of the Mexican Gulf, Jackson co., and receives the river, which is formed in Greene co. by the junction of the Leaf and Chick as ah way. [s. 687]
