Dysodia

( Bot. ) A genus of plants, ord. Asteraceæ. They are annual plants, with leaves mostly opposite and pinnately parted or toothed; heads paniculate or corymbose; flowers yellow. Dys'odile, n. [Gr. dysodes, fœtid.] A combustible mineral, found in secondary limestone, of a yellowish color, either compact or in foliated ma es which are composed of paper-like and flexible lam inæ, with impre ions of fishes and plants. It burns with a crackling noise, giving off much flame, and a very fœtid smell. Dy's on's, in Ohio, a post-office of Guernsey co. Dysop'sy, n. [Fr. dysopsie.] Dimne of the eyesight. Dys'orexy, n. [Fr. dysorexie.] (Med.) Diminution of appetite.
