Volsci

, or Volci , a people of Latium, whose territories are bounded on the south by the Tyrrhene sea, north by the country of the Hernici and Marsi, west by the Latins and Rutulians, and east by Camp an i a. Their chief cities were Antium, Circeii, Anxur, Corioli, Fregellæ, Arpinum, . Ancus king of Rome made war against them, and in the time of the republic they became formidable enemies, till they were at last conquered with the rest of the Latins.
