[Skt., 'three baskets,' name formerly given to chemical compounds consisting of one acid and two different bases, or of two acids and one base: but such salts are now more properly designated double salts, most of them consisting of the same acid and two different bases, as Rochelle salts, which are composed of soda, pota a, and tartaric acid.
