[From Lat. fusus a spindle.] Palæont.: A genus of Foraminifera, family Nummulinida. It constitutes almost entire beds of the carboniferous formation in Ru ia, Armenia, and North America. It is found also in the British carboniferous rocks, and more sparingly in the Permian. *fü-şüre (ş as zh), s. [Lat. fusura , from fusus , pa. par. of fun do to pour out, to melt.] The act of fusing or melting; smelting.
