muzzle strap (muzlstrap)

Astrap buckled over the mouth of a horse or other animal to prevent biting: it is a substitute for a muzzle. muzzy (muz'i), a. [Appar. var. of * musy, Mme. D'Arblay, Diary, I. 305. (Davies.)
