(bah-sil-id'yans.) [From Basilides, a Gnostic of Alexandria, who D. 130 A. D.] (Eccl. Hist.) A branch of the Gnostics, who maintained that Christ's body was only a phantom, and that Simon the Cyrenean suffered in his stead. [s. 77]
