senectitude (senektitud)

[ Senectitude , weary of its toils. H. Miller. senega (sen'e-ga), n. [NL.: see Seneca -oil.] A drug consisting of the root Polygala Senega, the Seneca snakeroot. The drug is said to have been used as an antidote for the bite of the rattlesnake. It is now almost exclusively used as an expectorant and diuretic. Also seneca.
