— Gu et-plate. An angular plate, placed horizontally for connection and strength; gu et-plates are for instance fitted to the ends of „ Strong-hold-beams ” for more securely connecting them with the hold-beam-stringer-plates. See Plate 20. is. f) Gutter. A channel; for instance: the hollow on an upper-deck stringer between the gunwale—, and gutter-angle-bars; also the channel between the margin-plate of a double-bottom and the outside-plating in the bilge of a steamer etc.
