Lychnis githago. Red-flowered plant of the Pink family, native of Europe; troublesome in wheat-fields because of the dark color imparted to the flour by its black seeds. Since it is an annual and the seed can be easily screened from the wheat, a little careful attention is all that is nece ary to keep it in check.
