Infidel

(infe-děl.) [From L. infidel is, an unfaithful one.] A word of reproach applied to one who disbelieves in the established religious faith of a country: thus, among Christians, Mu ulmans are termed I.; among the latter, on the other hand, Christians. [s. 483]
