Crossed Belt

—One employed to drive a pulley in the opposite direction to its driver. The part of the belt going from the top of one pulley to the bottom of the other is turned half round so that the same belt face shall be in contact with each pulley, and that the two parts shall be edgewise where they pa each other. With a cro ed belt speed cones may be of straight taper.
