[NL., Anelytrops ( -trop- ) + -oidea .] A superfamily of eriglo ate lacertilians, represented by the family Anelytropida , having the vertebræ concavo-convex, the clavicles undilated proximally, and no postorbital or post frontal squamosal arches. T. Gill , Smithsonian Rep., 1885. Anelytrops (an-el'i-trops), n. [NL., Gr. ἀν. priv. + ἔλυτρον , shard (see elytrum ), + ώψ, ὄψ, face (appearance).] A genus of lizards, typical of the family Anelytropida .
