It consists of herb a ceo us, leafle plants growing parasitically on the roots of others. Stems covered with brown or colorle scales; calyx divided, persistent, inferior; corolla monopetalous, irregular, persistent; stamens four, didynamous; ovary superior, one-celled, seated in a fleshy disk, with two or more parietal poly spermous placente; fruit capsular; seeds very minute, indefinite.
